The European Commission wants to establish a new method of calculating recycling rates. The institution believes that the recycling rate should only include the treatment of wastes that were actually recycled, Helmut Maurer from the European Commission's Environment Directorate General announced at an event hosted by the German Federal Environment Ministry (BMUB) during the IFAT trade fair in Munich last week.
