Court rejects Packaging Directive case: non-industrial cores still classified as packaging
The Court of the European Union has rejected a case against the European Commission’s Packaging Directive 2013/2/EU. The association Group’Hygiène, which represents the interests of several companies active in the hygiene products sector, had called for an amendment stating that non-industrial cores should be considered packaging, to be annulled. For its part, the European Commission called for the Court to declare the case inadmissible. The Court sided with the European Commission and announced this ruling on 7 July.
