New Report Assesses Global Progress on Food Loss and Waste

One year since the adoption of Sustainable Development Goal Target 12.3, which calls for halving food waste and reducing food loss by 2030, what progress has the world made?

A new report on behalf of Champions 12.3 highlights notable steps around the globe, including new national reduction targets and policies and funding that are helping advance food loss and waste initiatives. These references also include the positive actions of CGF members, the introduction of our Food Waste Resolution and the co-development of the Food Loss & Waste Reporting Standard. However, with one-third of all food the world produces either lost or wasted, the report notes that action does not yet match the scale of the challenge.
