European Commission published 2022 Work Programme

On Tuesday, 19 October 2021, the European Commission published its 2022 Work Programme.

ECMA will continue to be engaged with the Commission’s work concerning The European Green Deal and will also follow the revisions to the Pharmaceutical Legislation.

Whilst regulations concerning non-intentionally added microplastics are included, they is no mention of Tobacco or packaging specific legislation. However we cannot conclude that the Commission will not focus in these areas, seeing we are expecting the Packaging & Packaging Waste Directive proposals to be released mid-2022,the proposal on Substantiating Green Claims is expected Q1 2022 and the Sustainable Products Initiative proposals are also expected Q1 2022.
