ECMA call to end tender moratorium

ECMA is the Association which represents 500 carton manufacturers in 29 countries, supplying packaging into the pharmaceutical and food sectors.

On the 20 March, ECMA issued a Press Release requesting the suspension of all tender activity whilst our industry focussed on business continuity, during the unprecedented challenges presented by the Covid-19 crisis; I am grateful for your support of our request and would also like to recognise folding carton manufacturers throughout Europe who, in line with our role as an essential industry, kept the pharma and food sector supplied with packaging.

The Covid-19 crisis continues to challenge our sector every day although we have seen an improvement in the movement of freight, both cross-border and intra-country, across Europe and hence raw materials and finished product are moving more freely. ECMA is therefore calling for a resumption of all tender activity effective from 15 May 2020.

ECMA are grateful for your support of our members, as we continue to navigate through the challenges being presented by the Covid-19 crisis.
