The Mayr-Melnhof Group was able to successfully assert itself also in the first half-year of 2015. Ongoing high competition characterized the largely stable overall economic environment. Sales as well as profit exceed the previous year’s figures.

Growing sales of pulp and board as well as improvements in profitability in the board/kraftliner and pulp segments enabled the Finnish Metsä Group to raise its sales revenue, operating profit, and net profit in the first half-year 2015.

Upon publication of the figures for the quarter and first half-year, Smurfit Kappa’s CEO Gary McGann said the company had profited from good growth (+4%) in the European corrugated board market.
