Organisational Structure
To increase involvement from our members, ECMA has a number of permanent Committees and Forums. Members are actively encouraged to apply for committee membership and participate in the work of ECMA, or join one or more of the ECMA Forums.
The ECMA General Assembly, in which each converter member company and association has one vote, delegates the daily responsibilities of the association to the Management Team of the Executive Committee - the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Managing Director.
The Executive Committee consist of Managerial Members, the Management Team and the chairpersons of the permanent committees, and Advisory Members, representing the European converter community.
The Association is supported by a professional staff: a Managing Director, a Technical Advisor and the Secretariat.
Four permanent committees are in place:
- Food Safety Committee: the platform for industry collaboration on technical programmes
- Marketing and Communications Committee: drives ECMA's public relations, public affairs and communications interests
- Association Development Committee: represents the national converter associations, exchange of information, and the alignment of national and European Public Affairs
- Business Development Committee: umbrella that coordinates the ECMA forums (Pharma, SME and Tobacco)
All four committees may involve representatives from converter members, national association experts, and associated supplier members for ad-hoc working groups or task forces involving external (non-ECMA member) expertise.
The independent ECMA Forums enable member companies to set up a communication structure for information sharing on specific topics of expertise of common interest. There are three forums:
