Stora Enso – the global rethinker of the paper, biomaterials, wood product and packaging industry

Stora Enso was established in 1998 in the merger of two forest industry companies: the Swedish Stora AB and the Finnish Enso Oyj. The roots of both companies can be traced back to the latter half of the 19th century in Finland, Norway and Sweden, but Stora Kopparsberg Bergslags, originally a mining company in Sweden, is first mentioned in documentary sources already in 1288, making Stora Enso in a way the oldest surviving company in Northern Europe.

Stora Enso produces a wide selection of packaging boards in every category and provides the largest variety of polymer coatings. Our boards are manufactured in Finland, Spain and Sweden. Extrusion coating plants in Finland and Sweden complete the production of baseboards with comprehensive facilities for moisture and oxygen barrier coatings. Our true ambition is the cooperation with our partners, aiming to promote the efficiency and sustainability of fibre-based packaging.

Stora Enso Renewable Packaging is one of Stora Enso's four Business Areas. We produce fibre-based packaging materials and innovative packaging solutions for consumer goods and industrial packaging applications. We operate in every stage of the value chain, from pulp production, material and packaging production to recycling.
